How Character Abilities Work in Free Fire

Before building combos, you need to understand how abilities actually work. This basic knowledge prevents silly mistakes in important matches.

Active vs Passive Ability

• ▸Active: must be triggered with a button (e.g. Chrono's shield) and has a cooldown
• ▸Passive: works automatically all the time (e.g. Miguel's EP)
• ▸Only the character selected as primary uses their active ability

Character Slots

You can equip up to 4 characters at once, but only the primary character (first in the list) uses the active ability in combat. The other 3 only contribute if they have passive abilities.
